Our volunteers at FGSCC are the best!
We would like to recognize our VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH for May 2018
Sherry Greulich has volunteered at FGCC for 4 ½ years. She currently comes in every Friday morning to cashier and do paperwork for the Friday morning breakfast. Sherry has lived in Forest Grove for 7 years after moving here to be with family and help with her grandchildren. She was the Director of Education for a church and it was there that lead her to the interest in Gerontology. The Sunday school teachers she worked with would talk about how much help they wished they had to navigate their lives being in the Sandwich Generation. She wanted to learn more about this and went to a community college and studied the 5 areas of aging. She earned a certificate of Gerontology. She then went to work as an overnight manager at a retirement facility. Over the years she has also enjoyed volunteering for Village Without Walls and at her grandchildren’s schools. While living in California she helped start and organize a Welcome Wagon group for her community. In her free time she enjoys exercise classes taken at the center, helping family, along with writing and making crafts with metal and wire. Thank you, Sherry, for all the time you have given us. You are greatly appreciated.
